The Executive Accelerator will help you navigate the critical transition from successful professional to strategic leader in an immersive week based at the Etihad.
The sport industry is continually transforming, influenced by everything from the development of new technologies to climate change. Decision makers and shapers of this industry need to be skilled in leading with purpose and thorough complexity.
Throughout this course, delegates will be immersed in the principles of leadership from a variety of different perspectives, and will emerge with amplified understanding of their own leadership style, and strengths, and a renewed awareness of their impact on others, their organisation, and wider society.
From a foundation of personal reflection, the curriculum will explore principles for developing individual talent and diverse teams and thinking, and how to motivate and foster high-impact workplace cultures. It will expose the vital role of leadership when developing a global business strategy and contrast that against the backdrop of social responsibility, in particular in the context of climate change and environmental sustainability.
From the individual to the collective, participants will develop fresh perspectives on guiding high-performing organisations whilst making the most of the opportunity to refine their personal strengths and expand their global network.

The programme includes all sessions, resources, a Hogan™ self-assessment test, personalised coaching map, refreshments, lunch on all days, networking dinner on Day 2, private tour of the Etihad stadium, and a general admission ticket to Manchester City vs Arsenal on 26 April.
Excludes: accommodation, non-scheduled meals, transport to/from the Etihad campus.
Admissions
The Executive Accelerator programme will bring together an accomplished group of motivated and talented professionals hailing from a diverse array of backgrounds. The programme has a limited number of openings and candidates are asked to complete an application that includes a professional reference, resume, and brief personal statement. If accepted, a £3000 deposit will be required to reserve a space in the programme.
Course Leader
Matthew Radley – Course Leader and Certified Executive Coach, Matthew Radley & Associates
As the Managing Director, Matthew Radley is an EMCC Global Master Practitioner and leading Executive Coach working with CEO’s, Executive Teams, and Boards worldwide. He specialises in leading powerful Executive 1:1 and Executive Team Coaching programmes, guiding individuals out of their comfort zone using incisive questions, inquiry and observation and holding them in the zone of uncomfortable debate where true learning occurs. He is known for challenging assumptions and perceptions, championing new behaviours, and enabling clients to be braver than they thought possible. All of this coming from an increased commitment to leading their organisations with a greater level of self-awareness and belief. His ability to go beyond what has been seen or said before, combined with his high energy and expertise, ensures that he drives his clients hard throughout their journey.

Ferran Soriano – Chief Executive Officer, City Football Group
Born in Barcelona, Ferran has more than thirty years of business experience in twenty countries, in the industries of consumer goods, telecommunications, aviation and football. Holding executive positions, developing consulting projects, developing entrepreneurial ventures and investing. Since 2012 he has been the CEO of City Football Group. Ferran is also an author of a book published in more than ten countries and languages – Goal: The Ball Doesn’t Go In By Chance.
Roel de Vries – Group Chief Operating Officer, City Football Group
Roel is Group Chief Operating Officer at City Football Group and is responsible for the leadership and coordination of club business operations for all ten clubs at City Football Group.
He was born and educated in the Netherlands and prior to joining City Football Group, has worked in various global executive positions over the last twenty five years, including Nissan Motor Corporation gaining partnerships with the UEFA Champions league, the Rio Olympics, the International Cricket Board, the NBA in China and most notably a partnership with Usain Bolt.
Nuria Tarre – Chief Marketing & Fan Experience Officer, City Football Group
Nuria is Chief Marketing & Fan Experience Officer and joined the City Football Group in November 2015. Her role encompasses Content and Digital platforms, Fan Relationship Management (FRM), Fan Data and Insights, Retail and Brand. Nuria joined CFG after nineteen years of experience in the telecommunications, aviation and tourism and leisure industries. Her previous position was as CEO of the biggest ski resort in the Pyrenees, Grandvalira.
Omar Berrada – Chief Football Transactions Officer, City Football Group
Omar is Chief Football Operations Officer at City Football Group overseeing talent management, performance services, and football intelligence for the Group.
Prior to this Omar was Chief Operating Officer of Manchester City Football Club, having been promoted in September 2016 from Commercial Director for City Football Marketing.
Omar also worked at FC Barcelona for almost eight years, as a Senior Media Business Development Manager and as the Head of Sponsorship, during a very successful era for the Catalan club. Omar’s expertise in football operations, sponsorship and media rights reflects over 18 years of senior-level experience in the sports industry and five years in the telecommunications sector.
Andy Etches – Co-Founder & Director at Rezzil
Andy is the Co-Founder and Sports Director for Rezzil, market leading VR training and cognitive development tool for elite football, installed in many top-tier football clubs. He has worked in sport for over ten years now, doing a wide range of roles related to data, analysis and performance. Andy’s career and knowledge took a real boost whilst working with Manchester City under Pellegrini’s title win in 2014.
Patrick Knight – Director of Strategy, City Football Group
Patrick Knight is the Director of Strategy at City Football Group, with responsibility for driving strategic initiatives for both the Group and its portfolio of clubs and non-club businesses. Patrick joined City Football Group in 2014, from the management consultancy firm Oliver Wyman – where he worked for a range of clients across the European retail and leisure industries. During his time with City Football Group, he has worked on a range of projects – including the Group’s strategic planning process, new club investments & business opportunities, and league strategy support.
Executive Coaches
Sophie Taylor – Senior Coach & Lead Tutor, Matthew Radley & Associates
With over two decades working in fast paced, ever-changing global environments, Sophie can more than relate to the needs and challenges facing Senior Leaders and Teams. Her passion for coaching and belief in its transformative power comes from her own personal coaching experience. She undertook the MRA Executive Leadership Coaching programme in 2015 and it fundamentally changed the way she led and the impact she had. After transitioning to become a coach, she works 1:1 with Leaders and Teams enhancing their awareness and maximising their long-term impact. Her innate curiosity, passion for people and unwavering belief in the art of the possible underpins her coaching approach. She draws on a blend of evidence-based tools and techniques to create a unique and transformative approach for every client and every team.
Hilary Farrington – Senior Coach & Lead Tutor, Matthew Radley & Associates
As an industry professional, with over 25 years of experience leading global teams in marketing, insights and commercial strategy, Hillary has successfully built a second career as an Executive Coach. Her experience as a leader spans a number of industries including retail, healthcare, consulting, pharmaceutical and brewing, and it informs her coaching practice.
As a Senior Coach at MRA and with ICF Professional Certified Coach status, she delivers 1:1 Executive Leadership Coaching programmes and sessions for senior leaders, from CEOS to Board and Director-level, and powerful Team Coaching Interventions to enable teams to flourish and perform at the highest level – to lead for the success of the organisation and its people.
Her coaching style is highly supportive combined with challenge and ‘poke’ to enable clients to develop greater personal insight, to thrive as an individual and to successfully accomplish their leadership and professional ambitions.
Lorna Miles – MBE, Associate Coach, Matthew Radley & Associates
Lorna has spent the last 20 years living and working in the UK, USA and China elevating the potential of people and their organisations as a heart-driven leader, mentor, and coach. Her coaching is rooted in her diverse senior leadership experience in multinationals, government, family-led B Corp and consultancy. Through her coaching, she encourages clients to find opportunities for transformational and sustainable change, enables individuals and teams to gain clarity on their unique gifts, abilities, and opportunities for growth, inspiring them to discover solutions to work toward and accomplish their goals. She has a passion and expertise in Team Coaching, equipping organisations to adapt within rapidly changing workplaces, empowering teams to re-connect, collaborate and re-build trust in hybrid work environments.
Kimberley Johnston – Associate Coach, Matthew Radley & Associates
Before moving into coaching, Kimberley spent over twenty years working as a lawyer across industries in the U.S. government, U.S. politics, and in private practice in Washington D.C. and London. For elven years, she was a former lawyer at Lloyds Banking Group, working as, inter alia, the chief-of-staff to the General Counsel for the Commercial Bank.
Having worked in high stakes environments, she can empathise with the pressures clients are facing. She fully believes in coaching as a tool to create both fundamental shifts in people and culture change in organisations. Her practice centres around providing clients with high support and high challenge; ultimately helping people develop higher self-actualisation, identify their blind spots (and what to do about them), realise their full potential, and move forward in their careers, with personalised approaches that work for them in their personal and professional environment.
