Next Gen – New York City
Teenagers aged 14-17 can experience the summer of a lifetime at Next Gen New York City.
Next Gen is a summer program that aims to connect the next generation of leaders with the sports industry. Immersive learning will give teenagers their first experience of what a future career in the sector could look like, taking students inside the world of City Football Group – one of the world’s leading sports businesses, Manchester City and New York City FC.

This program is designed for students aged 14-17, from all backgrounds, who are interested in studying sports management and business at college, a future career in the sports industry, or learning entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
Through engaging in 25 hours of weekly interactive workshops led by industry professionals, students will gain valuable insight into the sports industry. Every participant will leave with a personal development plan, a better understanding of the sports business, a strengthened resume, and be better prepared for college applications.
Making Connections in NYC
Alongside learning, there will be fun opportunities to connect with like-minded students, including tours of iconic areas, evening activities that foster social skills, and an esports tournament. Moreover, with New York City as their campus, students will have access to all that the city has to offer, attending field trips, site visits, and special events at some iconic sporting venues.
Accomodation
Residential students stay in a dorm-like facility in the heart of New York City and are overseen by program staff. The residence hall is located across the street from their classrooms at the Old General Electric Building, 570 Lexington Avenue in Midtown East. The location equips students with easy access to Central Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, and Broadway — the perfect starting point to explore everything NYC has to offer. Students will reside in shared dormitories with laundry facilities, lounges, study spaces and cafeteria.

CFLI’s Next Gen programme is open to students 14-17 years old. Students must be 14 years old by the first day of the programme. All students are required to complete an online application, which can be completed in a few basic steps. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application before final submission.
