Programmes that connect students with the ideas and innovations that shape the global sport economy.

Starting with the case study of City Football Group and the backdrop of the English Premier League, our curricula will explore the wider world of sport. Our courses are led by academic educators alongside sports business practitioners, City Football Group executives and luminaries ranging from athletes to entrepreneurs. Our students gain insider access to iconic settings in London and Manchester where sport has made history, and is changing the landscape of tomorrow.

What we believe.

Football is one of the truly shared passions of the world, creating communities across generations and from nearly every country on the planet. With recent and unprecedented advances in technology and the interconnectivity of a globalising world, football has become more accessible than ever; its players, leagues and surrounding ecosystem are entwined with the world at large. In the last decade City Football Group has been defining a new approach to the business of sport, and is in a strong position to understand the forces that affect change and inform strategic decisions in an interconnected world.

City Football Leadership Institute was created to provide real life insights to students and professionals who want to know more about the business of sport. Those insights go far beyond the pitch and will get to the heart of sport as a continuously evolving global phenomenon and platform for creativity and entrepreneurs.

We invite you to be part of it – to join us in seeking a better understanding of how this world operates and what opportunities and challenges lie ahead.

City Football Group supports The Institute with executives as lecturers, providing real world industry insights, hosting students at CFG facilities and exploring ways to work with students and alumni, whether through internships, mentoring or career possibilities.

Established in May 2013, City Football Group has total or partial ownership of 10 clubs in major cities across the world including Premier League Champions, Manchester City and MLS Champions New York City. With offices around the world, CFG also invests in other football related businesses and projects and serves as a global commercial platform for its partners, whilst fulfilling its vision of using football for social good on a local and global scale through its clubs’ charities, foundations and other CSR initiatives.
